With a degree in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Maringá, a master’s and doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the Chemical Engineering Program at COPPE/UFRJ, Rita works as Patent Advisor at Simoes Intellectual Property.

She worked as a researcher at the National Institute of Technology between 2008 and 2009 and, for more than 10 years, has been a full-time professor at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF). Currently, Rita holds the position of Head of the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, and is a permanent member of the post Graduate Course in Chemical Engineering at UFF.

She has experience in patents and has acted in several lawsuits as an expert appointed by judges in specialized federal courts in Rio de Janeiro.
