News | 12th Federal Court incorporates Intellectual Property cases

In early August 2023, the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region published Rule No. TRF2-RSP-2023/00033, of August 3, 2023, which amends, among other measures, paragraph 1 of Article 24 of Rule TRF2-RSP-2022/00107, of December 5, 2022.

With this change, as of September 1, 2023, the 12th Federal Court will also be authorized to process and judge intellectual property matters, including trademarks and patents, as the 9th, 13th, 25th and 31st Federal Courts.

Item I, of Article 5, of the new Rule establishes the redistribution of 1/3 of the full file wrapper collection of the 9th and 31st Courts in favor of the 12th Federal Court, including the lawsuits suspended and sent to the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region for judgment of appeals.
