New Industry Brazil establishes strategic missions and goals

On January 22, 2024, the action plan of New Industry Brazil was revealed, outlining goals and actions for productive and technological development until 2033. The National Council of Industrial Development (CNDI) presented the project, demonstrating a commitment to neo-industrialization by strengthening innovation and sustainability in the Brazilian industrial sector.

The action plan incorporates six crucial missions related to agro-industrial chains, healthcare, urban well-being, digital transformation, bioeconomy: decarbonization, transition, and energy security, as well as defense.

CNDI established specific goals for each of the mentioned missions, with notable mention of the forecasted reduction in the patent examination period in missions 2 and 3. These initiatives lead to the expectation that the examination period will be reduced to two years by 2026.

The National Council of Industrial Development will analyze the proposed goals over next 90 days.
