News | China’s development of the digital economy promotes patent growth

Recently, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) informed that the innovative development of China’s digital economy has promoted patent growth in core industry sectors.

According to information provided by Ge Shu, a CNIPA’s senior official, last year, the number of granted patents of invention in such sectors has reached 296,000. The senior official also pointed out that the number of foreign companies requesting patents of invention in these sectors has increased from 6,418 in 2016 to 7,613 in 2022.
